Lachenmann Art lädt die Besucherinnen und Besucher in ein hinterhältiges Paradies, in dem drei Berliner Künstler ein pastellfarbenes Schlaraffenland mit doppeltem Boden kreieren. Malerei trifft in dieser Gruppenausstellung auf leuchtende Schriftzüge und Sandsteinskulpturen. Die vielseitigen und teils konträren Materialien vereinen sich thematisch und präsentieren auf originelle Weise das vermeintlich Süße und Schöne. Doch die Portraits junger, schöner Frauen, die Darstellungen von Adam und Eva im paradiesischen Garten Eden und zahlreiche zutrauliche Phantasiewesen haben eine Schattenseite: Sie alle fordern den Betrachter auf ihr Janusgesicht zu entdecken. Denn das wahrhaft Unheimliche schlummert stets im Vertrauten, wie bereits Sigmund Freud in seinem Essay Das Unheimliche im Jahr 1919 feststellte. Die Hybridität vom Vertrauten und Unbekannten findet in dieser Ausstellung neue ästhetische Darstellungsweisen, die den Rezipienten in eine glänzende Scheinwelt voll extravaganter Schönheit und gnadenloser Verklärung eintauchen lassen.

Lachenmann Art invites visitors to a sneaky paradise where three Berlin artists create a pastel-coloured land of milk and honey with a double bottom. In this group exhibition, painting meets luminous lettering and sandstone sculptures. The versatile and sometimes contradictory materials combine thematically and present the supposedly sweet and beautiful in an original way. But the portraits of young, beautiful women, the depictions of Adam and Eve in the paradisiacal Garden of Eden and numerous trusting fantasy beings have a dark side: they all challenge the viewer to discover their Janus face. As Sigmund Freud stated in his essay Das Unheimliche (The Uncanny) in 1919, the truly uncanny always lies dormant in the familiar. In this exhibition, the hybridity of the familiar and the unknown finds new aesthetic forms of representation that immerse the recipient in a shining world of extravagant beauty and merciless transfigurement.
